Voices Together Contents Announced
MennoMedia releases full list of songs and resources included in new hymnal
Harrisonburg, Va. — The full list of songs and resources included in Voices Together is now available. The Mennonite Worship and Song Committee has worked tirelessly over the past four years to create a collection that will serve the church for decades. That labor is nearing fruition as the files to Voices Together move to the printer. The hard work is nearly done, the permissions have been secured, and the list is now finalized.
“We’re excited to be able to share the contents of the collection so that people can further understand the breadth of Voices Together,” says committee member Katie Graber. “These lists of songs and worship resources include material spanning more than 1,000 years in more than 40 languages — many styles of music and language drawn from previous Mennonite collections and new sources. We hope people can begin to imagine how these songs and resources will fit into the life of their communities.”

As Voices Together products ship to congregations this fall, two new curricula for Sunday school classes, ministry teams, and worship committees will be posted for free online at VoicesTogetherHymnal.org. A five-session curriculum will help introduce Voices Together and its companion products to your congregation. Written by Anneli Loepp Thiessen, a member of the committee, the curriculum helps a congregation unpack this new collection, how content decisions were made, and allows time for singing and reflecting.
“The pew edition curriculum walks communities through the what/who/where/when/why of the collection, helping them to explore the songs and worship resources found inside the book,” says Anneli Loepp Thiessen.
A four-session curriculum that accompanies the Voices Together worship leader edition will also be available. Written by Sarah Johnson, who edited the worship leader edition, this curriculum is ideal for worship committees and ministry teams to think through the rituals and practices of Mennonite worship in their contexts.
“The worship leader edition curriculum guides communities in understanding how their worship has been formed and how it is practiced, and how culture, the Christian story, and life inform it,” Loepp Thiessen explains. “We’re eager for congregations to be able to explore Voices Together through these curriculums, and for them to be able to dive into their worship more fully.”
