Expansive Language in Voices Together
When worshipers flip through the pages of the new hymnal and worship book Voices Together, or swipe through songs in the app, they will discover many different images of God. Images like Rock, Breath, and Creator appear alongside Father, Mother, Womb, and King. Pronouns including he/him and she/her are used to refer to God. Some familiar hymn texts are revised, whereas others remain unchanged. In this statement the committee outlines the theological foundations and practical approach taken to language for God in Voices Together.

Guide to Contemporary Worship Music
Voices Together includes hundreds of expressions of music and worship, gathered from around the world over thousands of years. Contemporary worship music (CWM) is among these expressions. This guide introduces the CWM in Voices Together to both those who are very familiar with this expression of worship and those for whom it is new.

Guide to Voices Together Songs and Resources with Connections to Indigenous Communities
Voices Together includes thirteen songs and five worship resources with connections to Indigenous communities in Canada and the United States. A new resource guide provides background information, suggestions for leading, and practical guidance for how to engage these songs and prayers in ways that are respectful. Communities are encouraged to use these resources throughout the entire church year, but especially for services around Truth and Reconciliation Day in Canada (Sept. 30) and Indigenous Peoples’ Day (June 21 in Canada, the second Monday in October in the United States).
